Commercial Vehicle Insurance

According to the Insurance SOS, the commercial vehicle insurance can be considered included in the special insurance policy in which the holders of the insurance policy will be eligible to make a purchase on coverage for the commercial vehicles which they usually use for their commercial purposes.

People who are willing to engage in commercial vehicle insurance expect that the vehicles they use for commercial purposes will be protected from damages as well losses that happen to their cars, if any.

The damages as well losses they experience, if any, may be caused by quite a few factors. They can take place as a result of collisions, for example. On the roads, colliding cars are not hard to find, especially at the high accident risk area.

Besides collisions, there are quite a few thieves out there who would like to steal cars, including the commercial vehicles. This is one of the times when commercial vehicle insurance comes in handy.

Some people are richer than the other people. These richer people usually possess valuable goods that may attract burglars to commit burglaries. It often happens that the burglars attempt to take away all valuables with them, not forgetting vehicles under the possession of the richer people.

Commercial vehicle insurance also helps reduce the losses or damages when there are fire breakouts. As we all know, when a fire breakout happens, it is almost unlikely that it will be possible to save our belongings, whatever they are. But with insurance, it is possible to overcome the losses experienced.

This commercial vehicle insurance may as well come in handy when the commercial vehicles insured are damaged by some acts of vandalism.

The commercial vehicles can be insured either as a single vehicle or as a group and it depends to the owners of the vehicles how they want their commercial vehicles insured.

As how the Insurance SOS has informed, in the United Kingdom alone, the government has applied motoring laws very strictly. As a result, it is compulsory for every owner of the commercial vehicles to understand how important the legal value of the commercial vehicle insurance is.

As what has been stated in the Road Traffic Act (RTA), the persons who are going to be responsible for the commercial vehicles are the owners instead of the persons who drive the vehicles in case an accident related to the vehicles takes place.

Each and every owner of the commercial vehicles is as well required to get involved in third party insurance, at least, against damages.

The RTA also states that before a driver can drive the commercial vehicle of a company or someone else, it is necessary for the driver to possess a vehicle insurance policy. The employer may either use the policy that the employee has already possessed formerly or buy the employee a new vehicle insurance policy.

For those owners of commercial vehicles who reside in the United Kingdom, three types of commercial vehicle insurance are available for them. This includes third party vehicle insurance, fire and theft vehicle insurance and the fully comprehensive vehicle insurance. Now, let’s go a little deeper about those policies.

The third party vehicle insurance is considered to be the minimum vehicle insurance requirement stated by the RTA of 1988. This third party insurance policy covers the damages which happen to the properties of the third parties as well injuries to the bodies experienced by the other passengers and damages that happen to the vehicle of someone else’s or the third party.

However, the third party vehicle insurance does not cover the damages that happen to the commercial vehicle itself and neither does it cover any injury experienced by the driver himself.

The second type, which is the fire and theft vehicle insurance, is going to protect the owners of the commercial vehicles when there is an attempted theft that targets the commercial vehicles of the company engaged in this fire and theft vehicle insurance. The owners will also get coverage if a fire happens to the vehicles or the vehicles insured are stolen.

Now, the third, most complete insurance is the fully comprehensive vehicle insurance. It protects the commercial vehicle owners under a lot of circumstances.

When a fire happens and it burns any of the commercial vehicles insured, then the owners of the vehicles who are as well the holders of the policies, will be eligible for receiving coverage related to the fire breakout.

At other times, if the commercial vehicles insured are damaged due to a burglary, the owners will also be eligible for receiving coverage.

If the owners of the insured commercial vehicles experience injuries in an accident with the insured vehicles involved, there will as well be a coverage issued by the insurance companies. Even, windscreen damages to the vehicles will as well be covered. And if the stereo system of the insured vehicles experience damages, there will also be coverage for it.

If there are passengers inside the insured commercial vehicles and the passengers, too, experience injuries in the very same accident, the insurance companies are going to issue coverage. For any personal valuables or belongings missing, coverage will also be issued.

But all those insurance policies we talked about earlier are not the only insurance policies available out there at the vehicle insurance companies. It is understood that the commercial vehicles are often in need of a little more extra coverage which is called the supplementary or additional insurance.

This supplementary insurance includes windscreen insurance policy in which the damages to the commercial vehicle windscreens are covered. Yet, this is as well generally included in the comprehensive commercial vehicle insurance.

The other extra insurance is the approved repairer insurance. With this insurance, the insurance companies are going to cover the costs or fees incurred but the owners of the vehicles will have to repair their vehicles at a repairer who is included in the network of repairers according to the insurance companies.

Last but not least, another extra insurance is the green card which will cover the minimum requirements of vehicle insurance while traveling in the non-EU countries.
